BookBook App Terms of Service

Effective date: June 6, 2026

Welcome to BookBook App (hereinafter "the App"). Please read and fully understand all the contents of this agreement before using the App. Once you start using the App, you are deemed to have read and agreed to be bound by this agreement.

1. Applicable Parties and Service Content

1.1 This agreement is jointly entered into by the developer of the App (hereinafter "the Developer") and the user of the App's services (hereinafter "User" or "you").

1.2 The App is primarily used for physical book management and reading records. Features include but are not limited to: scanning to add books, managing collections, recording reading duration and count, displaying reading statistics, and supporting data import/export.

1.3 The current version offers a subscription-based premium service. Free users can enjoy basic features, while premium members can access all features. Subscription details are displayed on the Membership page within the App.

2. Data and Device

2.1 The App requires no account or login. It stores data locally on your device using SwiftData. Your data belongs to you.

2.2 You are responsible for the security of your device. Data loss, corruption, or inability to recover caused by device loss, failure, or unauthorized access is not the Developer's liability.

3. User Conduct

3.1 When using the App, you should comply with the current laws and regulations of your jurisdiction and the terms of this agreement.

3.2 You shall not use the App to engage in activities including but not limited to:

3.3 If you violate any of the above terms, the Developer reserves the right to take measures including but not limited to restricting use, suspending service, or terminating service without prior notice.

4. Data and Content

4.1 The book information, reading records, and other data you enter in the App ("User Data") are owned by you. The Developer only stores and processes this data to the extent necessary to provide the service.

4.2 Due to technical conditions and device limitations, absolute data integrity cannot be guaranteed under all circumstances. Data loss, corruption, or inability to recover caused by force majeure, system failure, or device anomalies is not the Developer's liability. If you have high data security requirements, we recommend regular data export for backup.

4.3 The Developer may process user data for sorting, statistics, and aggregation within the scope of the App's functionality, to display your statistical results (such as reading duration, count, etc.) within the interface.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 The copyrights and related rights of the interface design, icons, interaction schemes, program code, and other content in the App are owned by the Developer or relevant rights holders according to law.

5.2 Without written authorization from the Developer, no one may copy, modify, sell, publish, or use the App for other commercial purposes in any way.

5.3 You should ensure that the content you enter in the App does not infringe any third party's legitimate rights.

6. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

6.1 The App is developed and operated by an independent developer. The Developer will make every effort to maintain normal service operation but makes no promises or guarantees of any kind regarding the continuous availability, stability, or error-free nature of the service. The App may be interrupted or terminated due to maintenance, upgrades, failures, policy changes, etc.

6.2 The Developer is not liable for any direct or indirect losses resulting from service interruption, delay, data loss, or corruption.

6.3 The App may rely on third-party services (such as ISBN data services, Apple StoreKit, etc.). These services are provided and managed by the respective entities. The Developer makes no express or implied guarantees regarding the availability, security, and legality of third-party services.

7. Subscription and Fees

7.1 The App offers a subscription-based premium service. Specific subscription plans, pricing, and feature differences are displayed on the Membership page within the App.

7.2 Subscription payments are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase, subject to Apple's subscription management rules.

7.3 Subscriptions auto-renew within 24 hours before the current period ends, unless you turn off auto-renewal before the expiration date. You can manage or cancel your subscription in iPhone "Settings" → "Subscriptions".

7.4 The App also offers a one-time purchase lifetime membership. Once purchased, you have permanent access to all features with no auto-renewal.

8. Agreement Changes and Termination

8.1 The Developer reserves the right to modify this agreement based on business needs or changes in laws and regulations, and will announce such changes appropriately within the App.

8.2 If you continue to use the App after the agreement changes, you are deemed to have accepted the modified agreement content.

9. Other

9.1 This agreement is governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China.

9.2 Disputes arising from this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation. If negotiation fails, either party may file a lawsuit with the competent court in the Developer's jurisdiction.

9.3 If any provision of this agreement is deemed invalid, it shall not affect the validity of other provisions.
